It had been going well. At least up until the lizalfos he’d been fighting had knocked Fi out of his hands cutting his arm and knocking him down in the process. He had to watch helpless from his spot on the ground as the lizalfos raised its sword over its head. Had known that the blow would likely kill him. Had thought about Sun. How he’d never see her again. Never tell her how much he loves her. The sword began its descent and he vowed to tell her if got the chance to see her again. If he somehow survived. He closed his eyes and felt warm blood splatter on his face. It took him a moment to realize he didn’t feel any pain.

I love you both. I don’t care if she has patterns! She’s still our Rumi.”
“Good idea, perhaps we can help?” a new voice said, and the hunters whipped around, drawing their weapons, only to see someone that caused the weapons to drop to the ground in stunned surprise.Or
The girls realize their mistake after drawing their weapons on Rumi and two people show up to help them fix their mistake and save Rumi's life.(Edit: fixed a grammatical error that a commentor pointed out and it had been bugging me. Nothing changed otherwise)

Summary
Rumi overhears the girls going at it and all she can think is: Why didn't they tell me?
It sends her on a spiral where she pulls the Honmoon into herself to prevent the girls from feeling the demons trying to break through.
Instead of speaking about her pain and jealousy of not being included, she would rather protect the two women she loves by fighting the demons alone.
Maybe she would be worthy of a smidgeon of that love if she continued to make herself useful? Or she would be able to let Zoey and Mira have their happily ever after.
After all, demons don't deserve to live, it's so obvious.
