Summary
Harry doesn’t think much about the Triwizard Tournament beyond being relieved that he won’t have anything to do with it at all. It seems like he might finally have a quiet, peaceful year.
So, of course, his name ends up coming out of the Goblet of Fire despite the fact that he would never in a million years enter this death tournament willingly.
The entire school turns their back on him once more, only this time, he truly feels alone. Is this how it’s always going to be? Year after year of being thrown into life-threatening danger at Hogwarts while surrounded by people who can’t decide whether they love or hate him only to be shunted off to the Dursleys –who certainly aren’t shy about how much they hate him– every summer?
It feels like the fighting never ends. Harry is so, so tired…

Summary
Tom is quite used to the antics between his boys. Frequent arguments, from the tiniest details of schematics to the broadest strokes of a design, bickering about food preferences and cola and over-steeped tea, by this point most of it simply washes over Tom like the tide. Not always gentle, if the shouting gets especially loud, but familiar, and a good reminder of the life he’s built.
So the sight of Iceburg storming down the narrow hallway of their home one morning, barging straight into the drafting room and roaring “WHAT did you do THIS TIME!” is not of particular concern to Tom.
His own sleep was... not truly disturbed, but certainly not restful during the night, with dreams of Franky’s ships attacking, and recognizing the government’s twisted ploy, and surrendering himself to them in order to protect his apprentices. Which is to say Tom is perhaps not fully awake yet, ready to meet the world with gusto. So, he continues to shuffle down the hall himself, intent on reaching their kitchen and putting the kettle on for his morning tea even as he hears Franky squawking in outrage.

Ace stares upwards for a while, trying to understand what the hell he’s looking at. Gramps has never said shit about what the rest of the world’s like, but Dadan scoffs sometimes that the other Blues are weird, and the Grand Line is even weirder, so maybe this is like, some kind of normal bird for wherever the hell they are?
Right on the heels of that muddled thought is the realization the flaming bird is getting closer, circling their battered raft and descending with each loop.
Ace’s heartbeat speeds up. He braces his hands against the boards, heaves himself as much out of the water as he dares, and starts to shout: “Hey! Shoo! Go away, you don’t get to eat them! Go on, fly away you big buzzard!”
There’s a startled squawk, and the bird does back off a bit. But then it just hovers midair, trailing bits of fire as its wings flap. Ace would swear the stupid thing’s head tilts to one side, studying him, probably trying to figure out if he’s a real threat or not.
So he bares his teeth just like the jungle tigers and snarls, “You are not eating my brothers!”

All of which is to say, after he gets past his initial shock, Yasopp has a request to make.
“Doesn’t have to be a long visit,” he says, looking straight into his captain’s eyes. “Not even an overnight stop, I know we’ve got other things that need seeing to-”
“Yasopp,” Shanks interrupts him. “We can stay as long as you need.”
Well. Well, then- it’s a bit hard to reply with the sudden lump sealing up his throat, but Yasopp can at least nod his gratitude, and a few minutes later the ship is adjusting course to Syrup Village.

Zeff doesn’t outright take Sanji on a tour of the Cooking George, but he makes a point of showing off key spots when they take breaks from dominating the galley, and a bigger point of constantly touching the kid: a hand on top of his head or shoulder, nudging Sanji with his hip, periodically tapping him with his right foot. Usually that last one’s a precursor to somebody getting their ass kicked, but it just makes the boy smile every time, like Zeff’s red-stained boot means something special.
The whispers about cursed dreams are long gone by dinner, replaced by the crew wondering who exactly this kid is to their captain.
