His thoughts are interrupted by a deafening Woom sound that sends goosebumps all over his skin and a blinding white flash that explodes in the middle of the cave, he squints at the source and barely has time to think as a black projectile is thrown past him by a figure he can’t make out as Batman utters a curse, followed immediately by a Red Blur that makes its way towards him and Batboy.
Barbra , he thinks pushing past all the confusion and fear, if he’s going to die, he wants his final thoughts to be of her. He thinks he’s earned this at least.

The Usurper had once been a formidable man, with blazing eyes and a massive war hammer. Now, he was just a red-faced fat man, a pathetic drunk who ate as gracefully as a half-starved hog.
His Queen seemed to be a perpetually unhappy woman. Cersei Lannister was as beautiful as the singers said, though the woman had all the warmth of a dead fish.
She might have done well in the north, Quen thought, almost pitying.

Summary
Forty years have passed, but the future has not changed. Jack no longer looks for the past, he no longer looks for hope in the future. He only travels, a poor means to escape his demons.
But through a mountain pass, in a desolate land, he finds what he believed to be impossible. Beyond the horrors of a cult with no purpose, a desperate cry for a demonic god, he sees wat should be impossible in a future with no hope.
Children, filled with it. Hope for a new life, a new tomorrow, and a new purpose for their twisted origins.
A man who had lost hope now found reason to nurture it. And he would do such, if only to survive a future lost of it.
