Summary
The thing was, people loved Rantaro. And it wasn't always how he wanted. It was in a way that scared him, quite frankly, and annoyed him on bad days fierce. In ways that made it clear that what they were loving wasn't actually ‘Rantaro Amami’, but a facade. Whatever idea, whatever ideal, they've crafted him as. Many people have confessed to Rantaro—girls, but even some boys, and one memorable x-gender hopeful—and Rantaro has rejected them all. Even the fact that they asked, proves it—they never saw him, not a bit.
People loved Rantaro. And Rantaro loved them back, too. Just not in a way they wanted.
“Shirogane-chan—Shirogane-chan, wait!”
Shirogane stops. Brows furrowing as she turned to face him. “What do you want now?” She snapped at him.
“I'm not—aha, I'm just…” Rantaro cleared his throat, nervously flapping his hands about. “I wasn't hitting on Akamatsu-san. Just—just so you know.”
She looked a bit perplexed. “Of course you weren't.” She agreed. “Amami-kun isn't interested in that kind of stuff.”
