Summary
After escaping HYDRA and starting a new life in New York, Peter Parker lives in a precarious balance of research, vigilanting and keeping up the appearance of a normal life. That is until he gets a dare to hack a certain number and his world slowly starts to fall apart around him.
The Avengers, still recovering after significant trouble with the Accords, are stuck living in the Tower under SHIELD’s watch. Their relationships are, to put it mildly, faltering on the edge — until a genius kid stumbles into their lives and has them rethink everything.
Oh, and there’s also the small matter of taking down a certain Spider-menace.

I wrote this to make Peter suffer as much as possible and still be the same sweet person on the outside, loved by everyone (but not necessarily morally white under the surface).

“What’s his name?”
“Peter,” Tony said, like it was the most casual thing ever. He wasn’t even looking at Bucky, eyes downcast and focused on the project he was half-heartedly fiddling with. “Just a kid, I think. He’s a genius, I’ll give him that – hacked Fri all on his own in a library but I still can’t find anything wrong-“
Bucky grabbed Tony’s face in his hands, making him face him. It might’ve been more forceful than he had intended, because his cheeks were squished between palms, an angry red. “Peter?” He sounded almost breathless. Painfully desperate. “He knew his name was Peter?”
Tony nodded (at least, he thought he did. It was almost too small to tell), his eyes wide, and that was all it took for Bucky to take off running.

The Winter Soldier was a traitor. A foul, scum bag who betrayed and hurt. The Spider was nothing of the sort, and he prided himself on such. He was better, stronger – useful.
The Winter Soldier was a traitor. He left HYDRA, he left Spider. Spider wasn't supposed to care, he wasn't supposed to feel, he was better.
And yet, that didn't make it hurt any less.

Summary
C00lkidd led them away, and he distantly wondered where Jason was. He was on John's left, and 1x1x1x1 was on his right. They were both supporting him as he walked. John muttered a 'thank you', but there was little response besides 1x1x1x1 chastising him to stay quiet.
"We don't have much time." 1x1x1x1 grunted as he pushed John forward. The man stumbled, his feet just barely catching the grass below. He steadied himself quickly and turned away to run off. C00lkidd assumed he knew where Jason was.
