“Ahaha, that…?” Saki scratches her cheek nervously. “Forget about it. I was just rambling that day. I should’ve comforted you.”
“It’s fine, I already had a lot of people trying to comfort me anyway.” Shiho places the synth carefully on Saki’s lap. “I think what you said was right, you are going to die one day, we all are. And all we can do is make the best of the time we have together.”
Saki smiles at the keys.
“Well,” Shiho stands and plugs the synth to a nearby outlet. “We’re gonna have the best rest of our lives.”

Time is not a merciful thing. You need to savor every moment of life you get, cherish those that make you happy, before you eventually drift apart. Leo/need was an exception; no matter how many times Shiho had tried to beat them off with a stick, they always came back for her.
That's why Shiho is determined to do the same for Saki. No matter how ill she gets, Shiho will come back.

Toya has always thought his own hands were nothing short of brutish, knobby in all the wrong places, bruised all over with the strain of playing the piano for so many hours of so many days of so many years, and the worst part, the part that makes Toya want to hide his hands so badly, is the way his pinkies sort of twist the wrong way, stuck from a lifetime of stretching his fingers to reach far-away keys. There isn’t a single thing Toya has ever liked about his own hands, not when their only purpose is to remind Toya of how much of his life he’s already wasted and how much he’ll continue to waste.
Well, there wasn’t a single thing he liked about them until now.

They did it! They’ve surpassed RAD WEEKEND!
…now what?
Akito never really thought about what he’d do after he’d finally beaten RAD WEEKEND. It always seemed like this distant and massive undertaking so it never occurred to him that it might only take 2 years (post-formation of VBS) to accomplish.
What also almost finishes after about two years?
Oh yeah, most of high school.
With the end of his third year coming up, Akito begins to realize that he might be the only one that hadn’t been thinking about ‘after’ and that he has now fallen behind in a different way.
