For Kaelix? And it’s true. But getting closer to him meant Kaelix—in all his curiosity—began to notice how Zeal actively avoided speaking about a time before they met.
Even as they grew closer into something beyond friendship, there's a little detail Kaelix starts to pay more attention to: Zeal, without fail, keeps his gloves on even after his shift is over. In fact, even on their days off, the gloves are still there.
As if he's got something to be ashamed of. Something he doesn't want people to see—something even he doesn't want to see.

inside sits a thin collar, tinted a deep, verdant green, with a bell attached to the very front. gingerly, zeal takes it out of the box with a slight shake to his hands, and runs a thumb over the soft material, breath hitching at the quiet jingle that sounds. his first name is written out in pretty font on the metal nameplate, and beside the bell, a small tag dangles. he lifts it up to take a closer look at it, an indescribable noise escaping his lips when he sees what’s written.
‘if lost, return me to my owner!’
