Summary
After the ladder truck collapses on Buck during a rescue call, he’s rushed to the hospital with severe injuries. While the 118 rallies to protect and comfort him, Maddie forces her way into his hospital room—ignoring Buck’s explicit request to stay away. The result is catastrophic: Maddie re-injures Buck in her desperation to be forgiven.
Now, in the aftermath of physical pain and emotional betrayal, Buck has to decide what—and who—is worth holding onto. Thankfully, his real family never left his side.

Sam tried to translate them, and he thought his soulmate was asking: who are you? Where are you?
Sam took a long time figuring out how to reply.
Я твоя вторая половинка. He finally, and very carefully, wrote back when he was 17. I’m your soulmate.
He didn’t get a reply for a long time after that. And even then, it didn’t seem to help.

Sam sighed when the reply came in 6 months later. “I don’t know, man. Who are you?”

aka the adventures of Han Solo, a gravedigger without a grave to dig and an optimistic guide to death.
Sam Wilson is dealing with his untreated trauma by isolating himself in the middle of nowhere.
"It doesn’t matter that his therapist hadn’t actually advised him to become a hermit. Or that she had actually said that distancing himself from the world only meant he was running away.Now he’s stuck with no reception and no internet in the New England countryside, which is basically Canada but with less moose and more witch hunting. And probably more fucking birds too."
It all changes when a hiker arrives, weary, handsome and in search of an unmarked grave.
[This story is unfinished. However chapter 5 summarises my original intent for the ending, hopefully giving the story closure.]

Summary
