Summary
"The crown suits you, you know," said Ser Duncan over the cacophony, and brought Baelor back to himself. "Makes you look... you know. Kingly. Which I suppose makes sense, given that you're the king now." A look of anguish crossed his face. "Oh, hells, I shouldn't be calling you 'you,' should I? It's 'Your Grace.' Please don't take—"
Baelor resisted the urge to rest his hand against the lad's back, as one might soothe a skittish horse. "No offense was taken, ser."
"Thank you," Ser Duncan said, then immediately amended, "Thank Your Grace...ness. Seven fucks, I'm getting another drink." And he whirled away into the throng before Baelor could say a word.

Summary
“Why don’t you lie down with me, Francis?”
Francis’s eyes snap to James again. James’s eyes are closed, still, one hand lazily indicating the pillows next to him in an invitation that borders on—that borders on—
“I won’t bite. Don’t have the teeth for it anymore, I’m afraid.” James smiles a half-smile, satisfied but close-mouthed, and Francis feels guilt like a hot spike driven into his guts. He laughs, weakly. James opens his eyes at the sound.
Francis seeks refuge in the pipe.Francis. James. An opium den. They try to make the pieces fit.

Summary
Hundreds of years ago, Julian's eyes snap open, their cornflower blue interrupted by a long black pupil, shaken awake by a blood-covered boy with two similar figures trailing behind him that would soon become his brothers.
Now, Jaskier's eyes, pupils round like a human's, open to watch the life he'd built for himself, bloody piece by bloody piece, crumble before him.

Summary
Hans Capon knows that to be a true knight, he must fell a malevolent dragon. Every knight in the books he has read as a child has had this one common trait. If Hans can fell his own beast of hell, maybe then Hanush would see that he is fit to be the Lord of Rattay, a title dangled so teasingly in front of him. Dragons, however, are rare. There hasn’t been a sighting of one in such a long time that Hans is slowly beginning to lose hope.
That is until one day a mysterious old crone comes to the castle, demanding an audience with Hanush and Hans. She exclaims that a dragon has returned, last seen haunting the woods near the ruins of Skalitz. Hans finally gets his chance, jumping at the bit to prove to Hanush that he is knight worthy of the title Lord of Leipa. Reluctantly, Hanush lets Hans take a small retinue of the most skill combatants to go and slay the dragon.
Hans is simply not prepared for what this dragon actually is.
