Summary
Homecoming AU.
Ben and May divorced before Peter’s parents died, so when Ben is murdered Peter goes into foster care. It takes just a tiny taste of superpowers for Peter to decide he doesn’t want to put up with his horrible foster father anymore—the streets are infinitely more appealing. All he wants is to be Spider-Man anyway.
So he leaves.
Simple.
Simple, that is, until Iron Man needs Spider-Man’s help. Peter isn’t about to turn down an opportunity to fight alongside Tony Freaking Stark, but he also isn’t going to let his hero know that his recruit is a fifteen-year-old homeless dropout. So they strike a deal. Peter will help Tony. In return, the mask stays on.
And that’s when things get complicated.

Summary
Damian tightens his grip on the knife that he’s still holding, although logically he knows the teenager sitting across from him is not the threat here.
“So then, how do you suggest we proceed?” he asks through gritted teeth.
Timothy Drake leans forward on his elbows and clasps his hands together, eyes hollow and exhausted as he considers Damian.
“I think Bruce and Alfred are in trouble. We have to help them.”
***
Damian reluctantly accepts help from an adversary and slowly realizes they have a lot in common.

Summary
“The Red Hood has been good for Gotham,” Robin continued. “Crime in Park Row decreased by sixty one percent almost as soon as you showed up, and that’s even taking into account all the crime you commit. Drug overdoses have decreased by twenty two percent in adults and seventy nine percent in minors. Homeless minors are ninety two percent less likely to—”
“Kid,” Jason interrupted. “Enough statistics. What the hell is this about?”
Robin slowly lowered the tablet with his powerpoint presentation and looked up at Red Hood.
“You care about Gotham,” Robin summarised. “Gotham needs Batman. Batman is missing and so is Nightwing. We need you to fill in for Batman.”
“You want me to cover Batman’s patrols?” Jason clarified.
“No,” Robin said. “I want you to be Batman.”
Jason bluescreened.
(Or: Batman and Nightwing mysteriously disappear before Red Hood has even started antagonising them, Robin is desperate, Gotham needs Batman, and Red Hood is Batman-Shaped.)

Summary
Unknown number has sent 1 image, the banner reads. That’s right. The Replacement had said he was into photography or something. Another buzz comes in as Jason is double checking the daggers shoved into his boots. And then another. And another. It’s incessant. With a huff, Jason opens the phone back up to idly stroll through the stream of Dick’s inconsistently punctuated texts.
Tim what is this
Where are you
You said you had homework??????
Hello????
Well, he seems a little distressed.
Jason scrolls back up to the top of the chat, ignoring Dick’s incoming messages to take a closer look at the inciting image. It’s blurry and dark. Jason has to hold the phone ridiculously close to his face just to make it out. A green-gloved hand gives a thumbs-up over a piece of wet pavement. Jason squints closer. It’s not just wet. It’s a deep, slick red.
Cool. Whose blood is that? Jason asks. Dick’s response is immediate: NOT HELPING JAY.

Jason, Dick, and Tim learn about communication.

Summary
Jaxton prattles on, oblivious. “And instead you want to, what? Read some dumb poetry some dumb chick wrote, like, a hundred years ago? Hang out with your weird, shrimpy roommate?”
Jason has to take a deep breath, trying to center himself. Jaxton’s an idiot. He’s too stupid for Jason to waste time fighting him. “First of all, don’t call Tim shrimpy.”
“You call me shrimpy literally every day,” Tim mutters.
“That’s different,” Jason says, without looking back. “Second of all, the knee brace makes extended athletics a little difficult. And third of all, dumb chick? What the fuck is wrong with you?”
“Am I wrong?” Jaxton says.
“Yes,” Jason says, throwing a hand out wildly. “Yes, obviously you’re fucking—do you even understand—the impact of sonnet 43 alone—"
“Oh my God,” one of the guys says, less quietly than he thinks. “This guy’s a freak.”
***
Jason gets into a fistfight over literature. As one does.
