Summary
Xie Lian would do anything to give his people peace.
The long war between Tiānjiè and Guǐ jiè had worn down both kingdom's resources, people, and spirit. In an effort for peace Emperor Jun Wu arranges a peace talk that somehow ends with the disgraced Prince Xie Lian traveling to Guǐ jiè to marry none other than King Hua Cheng.
Now in Guǐ jiè former Prince Xie Lian finds not only a husband, new friends, and allies but information that would shatter everything he thought he understood. Will he be able to figure out who murdered his beloved parents so many years ago?
Will he be able to put the pieces together before it's too late?
Which will confuse him more? Figuring out the murder or figuring out his own feelings for his new husband?

Out of practice with relaxation, Xie Lian doesn't expect much more than a week of privacy in which to lick his wounds and try to start over. He certainly doesn't expect San Lang, the bold and spirited young man he encounters on the way, who seems determined to raise Xie Lian’s standards /for/ him, who somehow has all the gossip on the island resort they’re both going to— as well as its notorious owner, Hua Cheng.
Maybe 'unexpected' is exactly what Xie Lian needs.

Hua Cheng’s visible eye widened just a fraction — but his breath caught, and the heat between them sharpened as the tension in his pants made itself known.
