Summary
I was listening to Ma Meilleure Ennemie by Stromae and babbling to my friend who loves making au’s and crossovers and I was struck with something. A stroke of crin-genius. Ada and Leon in the place of Powder and Ekko. For anyone who hasn’t seen Arcane don’t worry, premise is: Leon is sucked into another universe’s version of himself’s body. Ada is there but she’s… different. EVERYTHING is different.
Since I’m not creative at all I had a bit of a hard time thinking of what would be different in the universe he’s sent to, so I won’t go into a lot of detail. You’ll get about as much of an introduction to everything as we got watching Arcane (you go into it knowing as much as Leon does about what’s going on.)

Ada can see it so clearly in that moment, every question he has ever thought of but never voiced aloud, all rushing to the surface at once, all screaming the one fact she was too blind—willfully or otherwise—to face: that these mortal attachments, these petty sentimentalities other people indulge in and she scoffs at, they were always meant to lead toward a particular destination. The strings bound both ways, and the carousel never did quite spin endlessly.
Would that she had the answer Leon wanted to hear.
(Or: For Leon and Ada, what looks like the end is merely the beginning. Sometimes, in order to fix something, you have to take it apart first.)

Summary
How many rooms to reach the bottom of this place, step by hallowed step to the innermost chamber, to infiltrate the heart where it was caged? Being in a stranger's home always filled Ada with the same desire. Not for the things themselves, but for a space as grand and as wide as this, somewhere permanent to live that wasn’t an isolated cabin or a hotel room in the city. She wanted to relish this house, to learn its floor plan like a language, to find the perfect opening.
Or: The world is a screen and desire is a dreamscape history of ghosts. An encounter at a celebrity mansion party in the Hollywood Hills brings Ada and Leon back together to contend with old silences, driving their relationship headlong toward an inevitable eruption.
A story about portals, art and language, rogue impulses and obsessions, and the secret, haunted passages of Ada's heart.
