The doorbell rings just as Shane is finishing brushing his teeth – the first thing they rose to do, because he wants to kiss Ilya good morning – and he and Ilya exchange a confused look in the bathroom mirror. It's barely dawn, and Ilya's curls are adorably tousled from sleep as he scratches his ribs lazily, toothbrush dangling from the corner of his mouth.
Shane hesitates, then rinses his toothpaste out and runs a hand through his hair. "Fuck, it's probably anti-doping."
No one else would be here at this hour – unless it's an emergency.

Summary
“Say yes,” Ilya says, and he can hear the pleading quality of his tone, hoping that Hollander doesn’t notice.
He can hear and feel the way Hollander breathes from Ilya’s throat, no doubt taking in his scent. Ilya hasn’t ever given much thought to his scent before now; omegas seem to enjoy it, yes, but he’s more conscious of it right now, because does Hollander enjoy it?
It’s quiet, so quiet Ilya almost misses it, and yet so loud that it might as well be a shout in Ilya’s ears when Hollander mutters, “Yes.”
Ilya feels a rush of endorphins flood him, a ringing in his ears of yes good fuck take—but he wills himself to remain calm, to not scare Hollander off.
“Then come, omega,” Ilya hums, curling his fingers around Hollander’s nape possessively. “Let’s get you fucked.”

Summary
When Ilya gets a text from Shane in the hospital that just says “I’m so sorry,” he has no idea what to think. He expects the worst, except he doesn’t know what the worst possibly is.
Ten minutes later Ilya receives a text from a phone number without a contact. His heart seems to stop as he opens it.
“Ilya Rozanov,” it reads, and then on another line, “this is Yuna Hollander, Shane Hollander’s mother. I’m inviting you to dinner at Montoya's at 5:30pm tonight. It is private and quiet. Please be there.”
Shane accidentally spills the beans to his parents while high on pain meds and Ilya has to have dinner with them alone.

Nicolò waited, and after a long, uncomfortable moment, the Saracen finally responded. He spat an incomprehensible sentence in Arabic, heavy with disdain, and thrust his bound hands forward. A demand to be released? That would make sense. Nicolò hesitated.
“Do you understand me?” he pressed, repeating his gestures. “We are the same. We go together? Away from here? Both of us?”
The Saracen repeated also; his Arabic phrase, and the twisting of his wrists against their bindings. Nicolò nodded, and crouched before him.“I am going to free you,” he said. “Please help me.”

3. Nicolò is not attracted to Omegas.So when Yusuf mentions that being unmated is an inconvenience, he truly never expects the conversation to spiral to Nicolò offering him a mating mark out of friendship. No one is that good hearted!
...except, apparently, for Nicolò.
Perhaps it's a terrible mistake, to accept the offer and have just a taste of what Yusuf wants most in the world. Perhaps Yusuf is going to break his own heart in the process.
