    Catra Meritamun is an Egyptian noblewoman of Nubian heritage. She rules a settlement and fortress at the Nile on behalf of Pharaoh Cleopatra. She is called to the Egyptian royal court to fulfill her duties to the realm. Soon, Catra will have to make a terrible decision.

    This is a heavily drama loaded #Catradora in Ancient Egypt AU. It's about their paths through a turning point of history, and they'll witness, and take part in some of the most important events of this time. How did Cleopatra and Caesar meet? Was Alexandria the only thing to be besieged? How can Adora and Catra prevail against the forces that helped empires to glory and turned them into ashes?

    And did Catra set the world on fire?

    “How do you make this happen?”

    “Me?!?!"

    “Yes,” Glimmer sighed. “You’re the only one who knows them both.”

    “The most I’ve ever said to Adora was ‘does this print double-sided?’ And my friend-” Bow paused. He didn’t really need to share any private details about the most fiercely private person he knew. “She hasn’t consented to this. I mean, no one has consented to any of this.”

    “Because they don’t know about it! But if they did, and they had chose this, they’d be ecstatic.”

    Bow felt his face crinkle at the brow. “So basically if every single thing was different about the circumstances?”

    Glimmer narrowed her eyes. “Listen. I did a very misguided but well-meaning thing. And I think it was actually genius. So you’re going to help me fix it. Okay?”

    Sometimes you try to do a good thing and end up catfishing your best friend for her own good. Glimmer knows that's not the best way to handle a problem but she's got this! Bow's here to help! He even knows the random girl whose photos she (accidentally?) used and, while he thinks Catra and Adora absolutely should stay at least one county apart at all times for everyone's safety, Glimmer (and the universe) has other plans.

When Mira contacts her to invite her to her 28th birthday, the girls reunite, and Rumi might finally find the home she’s been searching for.

    That’s Rumi’s voice, no doubt. Melodic even without trying, sweet in the way her tongue wraps around every syllable she says, and shoots lightning bolts down the pit of Mira’s tummy.

    So why does it feel so wrong?

    “Mira?”

    Startled, Mira looks over her shoulder. Her stomach sinks without a warning, and that same chill from earlier claws its way down her spine without mercy.

    Because standing over there with Zoey, her mouth parted open in pure shock, is Rumi.

    Rumi, who was supposed to be beneath Mira. Who is still underneath Mira.

    Rumi, who summons her newly enlarged saingeom without hesitation.

    Rumi, who sits up and hums wickedly into Mira’s ear.

    “You mind getting off my lap, sweetheart?”

    Rumi would never say that. Rumi would never call her that. Rumi would never look at her like that.
