Summary
Twelve years ago, the Vinkus rose up and defied the Wizard’s rule. Their rebellion was put down swiftly and violently to serve as an example for the rest of Oz. In the chaos, the king and queen were killed, and their young son vanished, though everyone with a lick of sense presumed he had died as well.
Now, Elphaba Thropp has just defied the Wizard herself, and she’s turned her broom westward, hoping to find the sparks of a new revolution where the last one failed. Instead, she finds even more trouble when she becomes entangled with a motley band of thieves and their reckless, cavalier, and maddeningly handsome leader whose wanted posters all call him “the Scarecrow.”

Molly forced his way through the terror and had a brief moment to thank the gods because there was light. Then the grit and dust hit his eyes. He squeezed them closed again, as he coughed. Fuck! It hurt. It all hurt, but his anxiety was flowing into memory. He fought against them, fought back the past and tried to pull at more recent memories.
He wasn’t in a grave. He was in a tunnel. There had been a collapse. A rumbling and shouts and a flood of dirt. Hands had shoved at him, pushing him out of the way. Then darkness.

Summary
Molly didn’t have Caleb’s perfect memory, but he knew everything that had been done to Yasha, and to the others. The place in the wall where Molly’s manacles attached to the stone wall of their cell gave him a perfect view straight through the bars of the cell door into the chamber where the Iron Shepherds did most of their torturing.
Hearing his friends being tortured was bad enough. Being forced to watch it was hell.
(AU where Lorenzo and the Iron Shepherds take Molly captive instead of killing him.)

Nott reached his side and delicately took hold of the arm Caleb was holding close. Rivulets of blood ran down toward his elbow where his shirtsleeve had been pulled up. Something was sticking out of his forearm, something Caduceus recognized well.
“Oh, Caleb, what have you done?” Nott asked. Her voice quavered and her free hand fluttered about, not quite daring to touch the blood-slicked green crystal. Caleb didn’t reply. His head was still bowed, eyes shut. He was shuddering from head to toe, like pain was rolling through his entire body in waves.

Summary
A continuation of sorts from Day 11: Chronic Pain.
Yasha nodded, but continued to stare down at Caleb’s scars. They almost looked ornamental. Her own tribe hadn’t practiced scarification, but she’d known others that had. Their warriors had proudly marked their flesh with both simple and intricate scars that told stories of their lineage and deeds. Yasha had thought them beautiful. Caleb’s scars were different though. These were the marks of things that had been done to him. They were battle scars, even if the struggle he’d acquired them in hadn’t looked like a traditional fight.
“Do they hurt?” Yasha asked.
The question seemed to surprise Caleb, and embarrass him, though she didn’t understand why. Yasha had her own battle scars, and some of them kept hurting long after the wounds themselves had healed. That was the nature of some injuries. There was nothing shameful about it. Nevertheless, Caleb yanked his sleeves back down.
“It’s fine,” Caleb told her.

And yet here at Shiz, they were inexorably bound to one another, they just didn't know it yet.

Summary
A year has passed since the death of the Wicked Witch of the West. Fiyero and Elphaba have found a small moment of peace, living in the Badlands helping refugee Animals. Until a terrible vision turns their thoughts back to home, for they fear once again something bad is happening in Oz.
In the Emerald City, Boq, Glinda and Lion attempt to change Oz for the better, while dealing with an insurgence of Wizard loyalists who wish to go back to the old ways. Soon they discover an evil hidden in the belly of the Emerald City that is far greater than they could ever imagine.
