Instead of answering with words, Aubrey stepped forward and, in one fluid motion that defied both physics and common sense, swept Beca off her feet in a classic bridal carry. Beca's surprised squeak echoed through the empty aisles as she found herself suddenly airborne, her arms instinctively wrapping around Aubrey's neck for stability.
"What the hell are you doing?" Beca demanded, though her voice carried more laughter than genuine protest. "Have you completely lost your mind? Put me down before someone sees us!"
"Nope," Aubrey replied with the satisfaction of someone who had just executed a perfect plan. "You're getting the full princess treatment tonight. No arguments. No protests. No sarcastic commentary about my decision-making skills."

"I'm..." Beca started, then stopped. What was she going to say? That she was fine? That would be a lie, and they'd both know it. She gritted her teeth, biting the inside of her cheek to try and cope with the embarrassment she was currently feeling. "I can't stand up."
Silence. The only sound was the steady drumming of water against the tub.
