Summary
Ajax did everything he was supposed to. He trained. He never stepped out of line. He gave his soul for his figure skating career. So what will he do when his hard earned career and by extension, his whole life, falls apart?
Struggle, obviously.
But just as the ocean tides subside to reveal beautiful starconches, maybe Ajax will also find that life can be about more than figure skating. With his future unclear and the road ahead filled with bumps, it will be an uphill battle. But along the way, he will find the people who will stand by him and help rebuild his life, brick by brick, into something brighter.

Summary
Maddie loves her brother, more then anything. Also more than anything she wants to see him safe. So when a misunderstanding leaves her under the impression that his husband is abusing him she takes matters into her own hands.
She doesn't really notice things getting out of hand until she is confronted with reality... That she is projecting her trauma onto Buck.
Or: The misunderstanding continues.

Summary
Buck spent most of Eddie's deployment racked with nerves about his husband's safety and the closer it got to the date he is supposed to return, the more worried Buck is that Eddie will be ripped away from him at the last possible moment. So when Eddie surprises his husband with his arrival home earlier than expected, Buck may or may not lose all his usual gracefulness, which results in a small tumble, but hey now he can say he fell for his husband all over again. And honestly, who even cares about that when he finally has his husband in his arms.
And if Maddie saw how worried he was before, and mistook his worry over his husband's safety as worry about something else, coupled with a few bruises that give her the wrong idea… well Maddie has been through a lot, and she can't fully be blamed for viewing her brother and his husband through a lens colored by her past.

Or: a soldier! Eddie fic with a sweet reunion and a misunderstanding from Maddie's side, where she projects her own past onto her brother.
