One accidental misadventure with an anomaly leads to Ford and Mabel lost in a Wisconsin forest during winter, far from their family or signs of civilization. If the cold and snow are not dangerous enough on their own, there is the slight matter of a local creature that lives in that forest. Nothing like being hunted by a vicious monster to induce a little Pines family bonding.

A phenomenon in psychology wherein an individual manipulates a third party into an existing conflict, intensifying tension and maintaining control by deflecting responsibility.After their tumultuous falling out, Ford drowns himself in industrial-strength coffee and spirals toward sleep-deprivation induced psychosis in a desperate attempt to escape his mistakes. Meanwhile, Bill’s inability to accept Ford’s rejection is wreaking havoc on his other responsibilities.
