“To newfound freedom,” V adds. He stands, leaning his weight onto the bar as he clinks the bottom of his beer bottle against the one in Pepe’s fist. Maybe it’s the long night, the lack of sleep, the lingering scent of old cologne on the leather vest. Maybe it’s Johnny’s eyes already rolling so hard V can practically feel them himself. But as he stands there, looking up at Pepe from this new, illuminating angle, he can’t help but ask with a glowing smile: “So. You seeing anyone?”
