“Must be our lucky night, B,” Robin chirps, leaning against the unyielding Batman with lazy ease. “Seems we caught ourselves a ladybug.”
Jason doesn’t answer, doesn’t quip or joke or do anything in response.
He’s too caught up in the magic crackling through the air like lightning, in the swirling vortex of heat and creation and life pouring out into the world with this tiny slip of a girl standing in the center.
He wasn’t really thinking much in the moment, but later, he can understand how his question of “what the hell are you?” might’ve been taken the wrong way.
He doesn’t think it deserved the kick in the chest though.

Summary
There is an unspoken rule, kept by any outsider who's ever set foot in Gotham, that you should only ever visit the city once. (For some, even once is far too much.)
The most dangerous city on earth isn't kind to its residents—much less strangers who don't know how to watch their pockets or keep off the streets after dark. It's gotten better, perhaps, in recent years since the Bat started lurking on rooftops, but that doesn't mean the city is good.
Normal people stay as far from Gotham as they can get.
Marinette, (un)luckily, is far from normal.

The story of Marinette stumbling upon the illustrious Wayne family over and over again, as well as the more infamous Bats, over the course of her many visits to Gotham. She, of course, charms the whole lot of them and finds that the same is true in the reverse.

Dean's life didn't start out great. With his mom dying and his father taking him and Sam on wild goose chase after wilder goose chase to track down her killer until Sam couldn't take it anymore and ran off, it pretty much sucked. But now he has Cas. And Cas is great--perfect, even--definitely the best thing that's ever happened to him, even if he isn't quite human. He's been living so long in domestic bliss that he completely forgot to be worried about waiting for the other shoe to drop. Which is, of course, when his giant of a brother strolls back into his life sending Dean into a panic that he and Cas will have to uproot their perfect apple pie life if Sam finds out Cas' big secret.
