tl;dr: I lived next to the Jackson for years and Gabe was an abusive asshole who went missing directly after the case which was after Sally&Percy went to the beach she met his dad on. Coincidence? I think not.
Or : How a Reddit post started a worldwide conspiracy and Hermes decided to roll with it and created an entire mafia family. Percy is very confused as to why everyone seems so worried every time he mentions his father.

Summary
The Ancient Sheikha were far from stupid. So, when they were digging into the Zonai and found a glowing stone with the capacity to power three divine beasts alone, they naturally sent it to their biggest project. While attempting to figure out how to draw power from it, they accidentally melted it down. Prompting some new ideas, some far for experimental than others. However, they ultimately decided to backtrack and restored the stone to its original form. When the Shrine of Resurrection was completed, the Sheikha added an emergency protocol. Should it ever be the case where the shrine was failing to bring back either Hylia’s hero or her descendant, the shrine would melt down its power source and inject it into them. After all, that amount of power should bring anyone back if it doesn’t kill them, but those chosen by Hylia or related to her should be more than able to handle it without repercussions.
Oh how wrong they were.

There Revali was. Up with the sun, sneaking out of the Hero of Hyrule's room, and wondering what series of choices in his life had led to this moment. He was even more cautious whilst closing Link's door than he'd been when he'd opened it, bracing himself for the inevitable slam that- with his luck- would wake half of the castle up, but when the door slid into place with little more than a soft click, the tension in Revali's shoulders eased ever so slightly. That had been... easier than expected. So he turned, allowing himself a proud and victorious smirk as he did so-
-Only to lock eyes with Mipha the moment he spun around.

Summary
When Percy Jackson leaves his apartment at the age seven while his mother is at work and Gabe is home, he doesn't expect to be found by two magicians who were concerned by the bruises on his skin.
He expected even less to be introduced to the world of gods as if he was always meant to be among them.
When he learns that his mother was only stuck with his step father because of Percy, he decides to go with the magicians so that they might both be safe, even if they were a world apart.
The fates only knew what consequences this would bring.
