Their houses are close enough that Din is able to sit in his kitchen with an open window and listen in on Luke and Biggs arguments. Biggs voice is so much louder than Luke's and Din clenches his fist each time he hears the man raise his voice, every terrible thing Biggs says cyrstal clear to Din's ears. He wants nothing more than to break down the front door and whisk Luke away from that life. To one he deserved.
The young man's boyfriend makes a mistake that only affirms what Djarin already knows; Din will be the superior partner for Luke. Even if he has to show him first.

Luke laughs into his hands, rocking up onto his knees as he kneels and leans over. When he looks up from in between his fingers, Ben is staring at him in bewilderment. “Ben-” he starts, trying to contain his laughter, “I’m in a band. I started a band, Ben. And we’re… we’re fucking great.”
Through the feeling in his chest, the aching of his ribs as he hiccups over his own laughter, sobs start to rip through. His chest heaves, and for the first time in a very long time, Luke cries.

The Rebel Alliance has their doomed cause, and now Han Solo has his: Keep Luke Skywalker breathing until he realizes what a karking naïve idiot he is and unquestioningly follows all of Han's advice.
Han Solo is a scoundrel, and a rogue, and a guy who's just trying his best when Luke Skywalker fumbles chest over camtono into his life. Turns out he might sorta love the guy in all the ways there is to love another person, even as they fight a civil war and life and circumstances change both themselves and everything else around.
The problem is that Luke's a little lonely by nature and always on the hunt for love, and Han, who's sworn to protect the kid from both the universe at large and his own efforts toward idiotic martyrdom, doesn't think that there's anybody in the galaxy who's even close to good enough for him. Han's not going to stick his nose into any of Luke's relationships, not if Luke doesn't want him to, but boy howdy do they give him one hell of a headache.
[Or, the 5+1 things fic that spun entirely out of my control, where it's Han, Luke, the five men who loved and lost Luke, and the one he eventually married, all over the course of 10 years. Spoiler alert, it's not Han.]

Luke watches with rapt attention as Biggs pulls a draw from a cig. The paper sticks to his bottom lip and he smiles around it.
“You can’t tell ma,” he says. “She’ll skin me.”
Luke nods, because he doesn’t want to tell Lady Darklighter that her son is sucking cigs behind the vaporator field. He wants to watch her son suck cigs anywhere in the galaxy. He’s sweaty, his dark hair is slicked back, and the beginnings of a mustache on his upper lip curls around his smile.
Luke is entranced.

Du plus loin qu’il se souvienne, oncle Owen et tante Beru avaient parlé du « bon instinct » de Luke, de façon insistante, à lui comme à quiconque semblait le remarquer.
Tout le monde en avait plus ou moins, sur Tatooine, c’était une question de survie. Quand arriverait la prochaine tempête de sable, qui n’était clairement pas d’ici et allait vous causer des ennuis, qui était clairement d’ici et allait vous en causer encore plus... C’était une question d’expérience.
Luke devait avoir une dizaine d’années quand il avait réalisé que son « bon instinct » était un peu étrange et pas vraiment ce que d’autres appelleraient de l’instinct.
