The meeting at Sahara had run late, so Grian and Mumbo were just now doing the trek back to their bases. Mumbo’s shoulders were slumping forward with the weight of the day he’d had, his feet still dragging on despite how much he wanted to get to bed. The temptation of setting a bed down and just sleeping there was strong, knowing that he’d forget to reset his spawn at his house the only reason he hadn’t caved in yet. They really needed to make a bedroom at the shop for these instances.

When Zoro touched him, it was like the first bite of a mango; explosive, rich and unmistakable, sweet enough to make his stomach swoop, leave his chin overflowing with juices, and whenever Zoro dragged him from the ocean under his arm, Luffy would lick the seawater off his own lips and taste nectar.
He wanted to touch Zoro, all the time, forever, until he died.
He just wasn’t really sure how.

The Den Den Mushi immediately starts ringing. He stares at it, tempted to just let the call pass but the same madness that made him call in the first time makes him pick it up with a sigh.
“He’s dead, isn’t he?"
"Close, but not yet.” Sengoku replies. “He wants to see you.”
