“Rescue me?” Xie Lian arches an eyebrow at the man, mentally racking his brain to try and remember the scholar's name or anything else he can about him or his companions, but Xie Lian has spent far more time at Paradise Manor or in Puqi Shrine over the last few years than he has in the heavens and so these three young gods are barely known to him. “From what?”
The healer god, Wa Ying, lets out an exasperated huff of breath. “From that monster of course.”
Instantly Xie Lian stiffens, his back straightening and his tone cooling. “What monster?”
Wong Tu lets out a mocking laugh. “The one you call your husband of course and I told you before,” this to his companions, “he's not a victim. He's a willing participant.”
OR Post-Canon Xie Lian gets abducted by gods who don't like the influence Hua Cheng has over him...

Shi Qingxuan sighed dramatically, "That's sweet, but I don't need to spend the evening being a third wheel while you make doe eyes at your new boyfriend."
Xie Lian stumbled, taken off guard by such an accusation, "What?" He laughed, shaking his head, "Friend. He's my friend."
"Yeah, for now," Shi Qingxuan appeared oblivious to Xie Lian's shock, doubling down, "When are you going to ask him out, anyway? Or are you hoping he'll make the first move? Because I totally understand wanting him to ask you, but sometimes you just have to risk the rejection to get what you want."
"Qingxuan," Xie Lian said their name sternly, hoping to make them stop before they made this any more awkward than it already was, "I'm straight, okay?"

"The pheromones?" Xie Lian frowned, trying to put the clues together. But he'd noticed nothing out of the ordinary when they made port, "What pheromones?"
"The others!" Hua Cheng cried out, that aggression slipping back into his voice as he tried to explain despite all the difficulties he was having controlling his body, "When… when the women go into heat, i-it makes the men crazy, fuck we go crazy, gege!" He whimpered, murmuring under his breath, "I didn't realise it was mating season already, I thought we had more time, I didn't know, we shouldn't have come here, we never should've come, should've just gone to the next port…"
It started to click into place, though Xie Lian had never seen anything quite like it before. He didn't know how seal reproduction worked. He didn't know they went into heat. And he hadn't considered what that would mean for a selkie.

Every time Hua Cheng felt like he was finally drifting off to sleep, Xie Lian would roll over, and the creaking of the bed echoing through the quiet room was enough to wake him up altogether. And Xie Lian, for some reason, was tossing and rolling in bed a lot.
The low temperature in the room also made it difficult for him to sleep. You must know that Hua Cheng adored sleeping only wearing his boxers and feeling the warmth graze his skin, but oh, Xie Lian had so sweetly asked him to lower the temperature, saying that he couldn’t sleep otherwise.
Or: Xie Lian stays overnight at Hua Cheng's apartment and they share a bed. What is the best way to prevent Xie Lian from fidgeting so much?
