City boy Ed Teach is tired of his life in New York and needs an escape. He drives up to his mother's house in small-town Bennet Bay, Maine, on a whim, hoping some time away from the city will help him clear his head. The last thing he expects to find there is the love of his life in Stede Bonnet, the proprietor of a popular cafe/bookstore nestled in the town's charming main street. But will Ed be brave enough to embrace small-town life and settle down with Stede? Or will the siren call of his life back in the city be too strong to resist?

Summary
There was only one explanation for the disembodied voice— well, two. Either he was talking to a ghost or he’d lost his fucking mind. He also remembered that he was standing there pantsless. He looked down at himself, completely bare and exposed.
Ah, fuck it, he thought.
"Enjoying the show then?"
Another beat.
"You’re very handsome, so…yes," the voice said, slower, more cautious this time. Ed could practically hear the blush in it. "Is that alright?"
...

Summary
Stede Bonnet is a romance novelist, not that anyone knows it when he's writing under a pseudonym. After all, surely nobody wants to buy a gay romance written by a single, middle-aged man who has spent most of his life married to a woman? But Stede’s latest book and unexpected hit, Crossing Swords with the Pirate Captain, is being turned into a movie and his favourite actor, Ed Teach, has asked to audition for the lead role.
Action hero Ed Teach is sick of the grind and performative masculinity that the action genre, and his agent Izzy, demand. He wants to branch out, he wants to come out and auditioning for the romantic lead in a film about gay pirates feels like the perfect way to do that.
