Wei Wuxian is expecting to have a nice day learning from Lan Qiren and bugging Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng in the Cloud Recesses.
He's not expecting to see a portal open and drop out a fake Lan Wangji carrying a madman demonic cultivator that the fake Lan Wangji calls Wei Ying.
Too bad that's what he gets.

An entirely self-indulgent mini story I wrote because I love young characters coming across their older, eviler, and very incomprehensible selves. There's absolutely no plot.

Wei Wuxian bows to show his respect to Hanguang-jun, who is seated on the elevated seat that he makes look like a throne.“Approach,” Hanguang-jun says. His voice is firm and authoritative, the voice of a leader, a commander.
Wei Wuxian obeys.
In which Wei Wuxian figures out quickly that he isn't meant to be a hostage, but he doesn't quite know how to deal with the fact that he is being treated like an esteemed guest. He isn't complaining though.
