The Killer then raised his left arm, and the straps on his shroud lifted to curl around it in a clear mimicry of Uroboros. "'Every day humans come one step closer to self-destruction,'" he said through a shit-eating grin, voice pitched to a nasal register. "'I'm not destroying the world, I'm saving it!' God, what a drama queen." His arm dropped as he rolled his eyes. "Who does he think he is, a fucking Bond villain?"
Some truths can't bear to be acknowledged—not now, at any rate. Thankfully, though, there are some truths that can.
