Hades continued to loom over and scrutinize his son’s every action, commenting on how he was slower reaching the top than before, how he could use to be a little less prideful, how he was so dependent on the aid Olympus gave him. Even Persephone’s influence had little effect outside of giving him the sliver of respect, calling his son by his name rather than boy. It was laughable how little their relationship had improved, even after Zagreus had done what his father thought impossible, even after besting him in battle time and time again. Hades barely acknowledged his victories or accomplishments. It was grating, but unsurprising, his father was never one for sudden changes. He did not ask for forgiveness and Zagreus did not forgive him. Life moved on.

Or Zagreus and Hades do not understand one another and things get real uncomfortable after Chaos tries to help.
