“Jesus fucking Christ, Gallagher,” he croaked, not realizing how wide he was grinning until Ian put his large hands on the sides of his face for a second, thumbs brushing the lines of his smile before fluttering back to squeeze his shoulders. Mickey’s own hands were not doing much better, still clutching at elbows, underarms, wrists, whatever they could get in reach.

”No, you–” Marcus says, cutting himself off when he hears the command in his argument even before speaking it out loud.
”I will leave in the morning,” Esca says. He is crouched in front of Marcus, hands idly pulling at the unkept weeds at his feet. Marcus wants to slip off the bench and lower himself to his knees, touch Esca’s cheek the way Esca had touched his on the bank of the river where he thought he would die. Tell him what Esca had told him then. Not a command, but an unshakeable truth.
”I would come with you,” he says instead, knowing that Esca’s mind will not be changed.
Esca leaves in search of his family with a promise to return. He doesn’t. Another post-movie fic.

When Magnus had changed, he’d pulled on tight pants and an ornate emerald green jacket, open to his sternum to show off the necklaces he has layered on. His makeup is perfect now, smudges of kohl transformed into dark black lines. He looks every bit the High Warlock again, no longer like some late night fantasy created solely to torment Alec.
Alec forces a brittle smile. “Sure,” he says.

Only Arthur is still furious about the lies between them, and refuses to let Merlin back into his role as manservant. So Merlin requests to be made a knight. If Arthur can't trust him to be a friend, at least Merlin can continue to save his life. Their friendship hangs in the balance, and it is unclear whether they are going to come through on the other side stronger than ever, or broken beyond repair.
