“Phil, he– please!” Tommy hurries to grab his ex-father’s shirt. “Please, please, I’m s-scared!” He looks up and sees his dad staring back at him, worry and concern floating in familiar blue irises.
“I know, shh, it’s okay, come inside, I’ll keep you safe.”
Tommy nods and begins to head inside with Phil when something Dream said to him stops him.
“Where are you running to, little bird? Daddy helped me escape! You have nowhere to go! No one to run to.”
Tommy jerks away before looking up at Phil in fear. “You– you–”
“I what?” Phil tilts his head, in the way he did when something confused him or he didn’t understand.
"You let him out! Dream! He- He's gonna kill me!"
“No, Tommy, he won’t kill you. I won’t let him. You’re mine. And I’ll rip his head off for thinking he could come anywhere near you.”

Summary
Tommy Schlatt, better known to the public as the Number Four hero Icarus, had a problem.
His dad, the Number two hero Dream, had signed him up to take on three heroes in training when he knew just how much he DIDN'T want to. I mean, there were already so many issues with the mere thought of it...
1: Tommy was only 16
2: Tommy never actually worked with others and was, quite frankly, dogshit at it
3: Tommy didn't want to watch them die when he ultimately failed
Icarus has only six months to train his interns and with each passing week, things start to change and get more dangerous for himself and his interns. Tommy doesn't even know if he can protect them while also protecting himself. With each passing month, Tommy seems to discover more about a hidden truth that seems to have been laying out in the open.
Or, hero Tommy becomes a teacher and learns that his entire life is a fucking lie
