Where Lan Wangji is ordered to take on a concubine to produce heirs. He does so but in Lan Wangji fashion everyone regrets making him do so and letting him choose.
Wei Wuxian is definitely the principal wife in every way but officially.
Where the sects imploded rather than ended up in outright war, there might be less large scale death but that doesn't mean it isn't messy.

A pool of blood was dripping onto the floor from my palm where the vessels had failed to seal. I looked like those characters described as “gravely wounded” in serials right before a dramatic commercial break.
“I’m fine,” I said.
I was definitely not fine.
Or, what happened after Indah took SecUnit to medical after the attack of augmented GrayCris agents.

Humans often look up as if I'm hidden in the upper bulkhead, but obviously I'm not there. They just need a direction to address, presumably because they feel as though they are talking to themselves otherwise. I'm used to being imperceptible.
