Summary
Nicholas D. Wolfwood does what he can to make sure his hometown, Hopeland, survives for as long as it can in a new world that is built on the shoulders of an old one. “Ernesto gave me all the details.” Mayor insists. Who the fuck is Ernesto? “We know you’ve been travelling with him for at least two towns now, and that in the last one, you shared a room.”
“Never did that, ya must’ve gotten me mixed up.”
“A room with one bed.” Mayor continues.
Wolfwood scowls. “Nah, I don’t even like men. Much less blondes.”
“And then you leveled thirty people.”
Do they have to keep going back to that? “I’ve never fired a gun in my life.”
Wolfwood gets captured. 3 Days.

Or is it because you desire me the way I desire you?” Vash whispered his questions quietly, letting his words fall in the space between them. He went to pull away but Nicholas was quick to grab his hand, pressing the blonde’s palm against the rough stubble of his cheek. Nicholas’ eyes slipped closed and he took a deep breath. He couldn’t look at Vash while he spoke.
“I desire you more than I can say, Your Highness. But I am not of high enough standing to be so forward as to address you in such a familiar way.” It was killing him to say these words to the blonde even though he only spoke the truth.
“Have we not been more familiar with each other than that since we came of age? No one else has known me so intimately and I know it is the same for you. But, if it bothers you so much, you can rest assured that I will not ask it of you again.” The resignation in Vash’s voice was too much for Nicholas to hear. “But I had so hoped…”

Vash’s hands are sweaty, and there’s something frantic in his expression that makes Wolfwood want to soothe him, tell him that whatever it is, it’ll be alright because they’re together.
He’s so caught up in how impossibly blue Vash’s eyes are that he nearly misses Vash’s question.
“Will you marry me?”
