“Wei Ying?” The voice which speaks into the sudden silence is hoarse and shaking and ...familiar?
There’s a shift like movement to his right and he tenses automatically against the blow.
“Wei Ying?” No blow comes. Only that voice again and yes, it’s definitely familiar. Familiar but ...not from now. It’s a ‘before’ voice and he doesn’t let himself think about ‘before’ so he shies away from the memory, pushing it down down down as he does all memories that come before the dark and the pain. Still, something seeps through, an image: long black hair, jade pale skin, white robes, a headband, and lips set into a disapproving line.
OR Wei Wuxian is being kept in some dark horrible dungeon underground until the day Lan Wangji finds out he's still alive.

Summary
Lan Wangji is staring at him with shockingly alert eyes.
“Ah. Burger Man,” he says stoically. Wei Wuxian has a really hard time telling if the man is serious or fucking with him. But given that he has never seen the man being anything other than serious, he assumes that he’s probably drunk.
“Yeah, I’m the Burger Man. And you’re Lan Wangji. Do you normally spend your Friday nights sitting on the street like this?” he asks.
Lan Wangji looks around, as if he had not been aware they were on a street in the middle of the city. Had he blacked out? How much had he drunk? Was he on any drugs? There was no real way for Wei Wuxian to know.
“Do not,” Lan Wangji finally responds, frowning at the pavement like it’s its fault that he’s sitting on it.
Or, Wei Wuxian is slightly obsessed with the Hot Customer at work. After running into him on a night out, and consequently figuring out he has a kid, he somehow talks himself into getting to babysit said kid. So what if he starts crushing on this man who is obviously taken? Wei Wuxian has everything under control.

Wei Wuxian was awe-inspiring on the battlefield. Yes, terrifying, but Lan Wangji was blinded by his brilliance. It took a conscious effort for him not to sneak glances when he could, eyes blazing red, loose hair whipping in the whirlwind of resentment flowing off his body. Every trill of his flute, black as night, spoke a death sentence for hundreds of cultivators on the ground. The undead reanimated under his power, following his every direction, clawing, slashing, ripping. Not one person would guess how frail he really was.
“Are you not breaking some rule by ignoring everything I’m saying right now?”
“I’m breaking many rules right now.”
