It's meant to be a casual arrangement. Just a way to get Ginny off her back and manage her sexual frustration. He's not supposed to get under her skin and make her miss him in the morning. And she's not supposed to want to let him in and tell him her secrets.
Hermione should have learned by now that things never work out the way they're meant to. Sometimes, though, that's a good thing.
