Summary
Erwin Smith can't seem to get the Survey Corps' new recruit from the Underground out of his head. Levi finds himself saving the life of the man he'd tried to kill just a few days prior. The two vastly different men find common ground and establish a tentative relationship while navigating challenges from inside and outside the Walls. Erwin's political ambitions and Levi's emerging illness cast shadows, but the pair find hope in one another through it all.
This story begins between A Choice with No Regrets OVA and canon anime events and focuses mainly on Erwin and Levi's relationship. Mostly compliant with the canon timeline and incorporates major events as the story progresses.

Meeting people in New York City is hard. When Erwin’s last good friend moves away for greener pastures, he joins the local fencing club in his Upper East Side neighborhood in hopes of rekindling both an old hobby, and his wilting social life.
