Summary
If Rin saw them like this, Kabru thought, she'd never let him hear the end of it. She was already highly suspicious of the two times she saw Laios in dog costumes, and both of those had perfectly reasonable explanations. He wore his Cerberus onesie for Halloween, which was the one day of the year when it was acceptable for anyone to dress as anything. The St Bernard mascot costume was a part of some kind of promotional stunt, and Laios was paid to wear it (Kabru saw to it that he would receive the paycheck he was promised, aware that he would have happily done the same thing for free, but that was beside the point). There was plausible deniability there. He may have been inclined to defend him along these lines: Oh, of course he likes being in a dog costume, but it's a totally innocent hobby. He only does it within contexts that would be widely considered socially acceptable, see? At the end of the day, what's wrong with wearing an animal costume? There's nothing obscene about it. Sure, he gets more of a kick out of it than most people would, but there's nothing sexual going on here! If Laios didn't speak up to contradict him, it would probably be fine – as long as they didn't find out what went on behind closed doors.
