So he gave them those two words burrowed somewhere deeper than his mind or body. Aedes Elysiae.
When Mydei finally emerges from the Sea of Souls after nine harsh winters, the most precious thing in the world to him isn’t his name, his body or his life. But two words he can’t remember the origin of: Aedes Elysiae.
As the years pass in exile, he finds himself plagued by knowledge that comes from the same maybe-past or maybe-future that wasn’t quite Mydei’s and yet was.
It took four years for him to stumble across Aedes Elysiae, a boy that calls the place home, and why those words were engraved upon his soul.

Phainon and Mydei wake up on the Astral Express along with the other Crysos Heirs. They are alive, real, and completely clueless.
The battle is over and the cycles are gone, but for them surviving is only the beginning.

He turns, surprised. “Mydei.” He hadn’t heard him following him.
Still, he puts on a genial smile. “Coming up for the view too?”
“You could say that,” he says, reaching for and swiping a bottle of strawberry wine from the gift basket tucked in the crook of Phainon’s arm.
“That’s for me, you know?”
“I’ll give you my bottle later,” he says, brushing past him on the stairs and continuing to climb, popping the cork with just one hand with relative ease thanks to his clawed gauntlets.
He doesn’t turn back when he addresses Phainon again, “Are you coming or not?”or
Phainon and Mydei share a drink under the stars.

Phainon scoffed, flipping the heavy crimson cover open as he felt his cheeks heat up. The pages of the dictionary were short but densely packed, columns of tight script meticulously annotated with what looked to be Mydei’s own handwriting.
“This?” he questioned. “I could finish this in a second.”
Mydei tilted his head. “You do tend to finish quickly, haikas.”
(mydei brings phainon a kremnoan dictionary during his recovery.)
