Hot Barista glances vaguely around himself, then back to Alex. He looks simultaneously surprised and uncertain, like some kind of aggressively handsome time-traveller who’s been unexpectedly yeeted into a different century. After a beat, he says – “From me?”
“Uh yeah. You’re working here, right?”
“Well... yes?”
Alex tries very hard not to sigh.

Charlie is struggling with trust and control after an abusive relationship in high school shatters his self esteem. His therapist has suggested he needs to find a hobby that pushes at his limits of being in control. Charlie thinks Geoff probably meant joining a band, or maybe rock climbing, and not seducing fit guys, who are way out of his league, for one night stands. Same results though, so what's the harm?
An aged up AU. Our two favourite boys are at the same Uni, but don't know each other yet. Until a chance encounter on a night out that ends up changing everything.
TW for mentions of self harm, ED, past SA/NonCon - nothing too extreme I hope, but they're definitely mention as part of Charlie's story. It's mainly fluff?

All he really knows is that the stage lights are hot and blinding in a way that makes his shirt cling to his back with sweat and his fringe is beginning to droop even after having his hair cut earlier, and maybe he’d feel more concerned about it if Liam didn’t choose to remedy the insufferable heat by dumping a bottle of Powerade over top of Louis’ head, his eyes narrowed in on the way it cascades in mini-waterfalls over his chest, pupils blown in a way only Louis can detect.
The thing is, Liam never looks at the other boys like that. Louis knows he doesn’t.

Niall watches Harry shift, watches him loosen and then tighten his hand on the steering wheel, watches him bite at the inside of his cheek. He narrows his gaze when the brunette doesn't answer, reaches forward to mute whatever pop song is playing on the radio. "Harry."
"I mean- They know about you, they just don't...know about you," Harry corrects, offering Niall an awkward smile. His grip tightens, again, on the steering wheel.
"Forgive me if I don't know what the difference is," Niall deadpans. "What exactly did you tell them, Haz?"
Harry hesitates – and Niall can see the movement in his jaw, that Harry’s biting his cheek. A nervous tick.
"I swear, Harry-"
"That you were my friend."
Niall blinks. "Friend?"
Harry sighs. "I-"
"I wasn't aware you let your friends suck you off in gas station loos on the way to meet your parents for the first time. Did Nick get to do it too?"

Summary
Louis' been at the orphanage since day one. Since then he's been in and out of many different homes, each one of them returning him because of the same reason; he's too different, not like other little boys. But one kid can only take so much rejection before he shuts down and loses all hope in himself that even when a family does take him home for good, treats him as their own child and loves him unconditionally for many years, he still has his doubts. When Louis returns from Uni to visit his family he finds himself struggling to keep the secret that he just knows will make him lose his family and he doesn't know if he could handle that. He knows it's what all those other families saw in him as a kid and he just knows that his family won't put up with it, why would they?
Will Louis be able to keep his secret? Does he really want to if it means living an extremely unhappy life, pretending to be something he's not and hurting someone he cares deeply for? Louis just doesn't know what to do, either way, he knows he is losing someone he cares about.
