Dipper stared at her face for a second, before snapping back to himself. “It isn’t another ghost, is it?” He mock scowled.
“No,” she chuckled, before sobering up. “It’s kinda embarrassing though. My dad still has all these… pictures and stuff of that triangle freak.”
Dipper took an involuntary step back, glancing around with paranoia. His voice was quiet. “You mean Bill?”
“Yeah.” She couldn’t help but glance around too, half expecting to hear that laugh or see one of those creepy bats. “I wanted to know if you’d help me burn it.”
Dipper let out a startled laugh. “I couldn’t think of anything I’d rather do more.”

“Hey Steven?”
“Mmm?” Steven hummed. He was laying against Lion’s side and lightly strumming on his ukulele. His eyes were closed, focusing on composing whatever idea of a song lived in his mind. It was a nice scene. One that she hadn’t seen in a very long time. She quickly pushed that thought to the back of her mind.
“Is fusing with me different than fusing with the gems?”
He stopped playing and opened one eye to look at her. Connie found that she missed the sound. His face was full of confusion and slight amusement. “What do you mean?”

Summary
Things were very different after Steven’s breakdown. Very different yet also very similar. Steven was more withdrawn and he always seemed exhausted, but everyone was horrified to learn that that wasn’t so different from before. They never noticed the day he stopped singing, the day he stopped playing music, the day his smiles became fake. They never noticed how much he was hurting. They only saw Steven’s walls when they crumbled down in front of them.
And as they all smiled down at the crying boy hugging his pet Lion, they vowed they would never let him suffer alone again.

Impulse would be the first to tell you that paranormal investigation of any sort is a dangerous job. Sure, any job has its risks; mistakes have consequences wherever you work, whatever you do. It just so happens that the consequences associated with ghost hunting are slightly more…dire than for your average job.
Ghost hunting could turn out to be deadly. Not permanently, of course; instant revivals had made sure of that.
Still, returning from the dead…it wasn’t an easy task. Even with the assistance of instant revivals, it's rough. It has...effects, without fail.
Impulse has made it a point to teach every new teammate—Grian, Scar, Gem—that everyone reacts differently to deaths. And especially to being brought back. Impulse, as an example that he provided to the group, explained his own experiences with returning to life.
Recovering from the deaths was never easy, but they’ve always managed. Even when things don’t go quite as planned.
Or, five times the GIGGS crew deals with returning from the dead, and one time things go terribly, horribly wrong.

Nick had no idea that his con on the bunny cop would lead him down such a precarious path.
Yet, here he was, facing the consequences of actions, and not all his own for once. Most of which felt like Judy’s doing (if he was just counting that day) for landing him in this miserable situation. Then, he was reminded that this was just part of his station in life, a loose strand from his poor past choices coming back to strangle him.
After all, he didn’t have to sell that rug... Right?
