He takes a step closer to him again, reaches up on his toes, and catches Nox just long enough to press a quick, chaste kiss to his cold cheek. "Thanks, Buddy!"
Nox stiffens for the briefest moment. Crimson heat rushes to his ears, blooming fast before his face follows a second later, betraying him completely.
"…You're welcome," he manages.
Chase’s grin only brightens as he flashes him those annoyingly pretty white teeth. "You're such a gentleman."
Nox blinks at him.
Gentleman.
The word rings between his ears, ricocheting around his head like a ping pong ball.
He has never, ever in his life thought of himself as a gentleman.
