Geralt huffed, the start of a familiar argument brewing in his tongue.
“You see me.”“That I do, and sometimes there are things I wish I could unsee Geralt, the way you chew when you are starving is not for the faint of heart, let me tell you.”
“...You love me”. The words were hard to get out, but they were necessary. Love was something Geralt was still coming to terms with, especially when associated with his person.
“I do.”

Summary
There was a feeling growing inside Geralt, not unlike the day he went through the trials. A buzzing in his head, making it impossible to concentrate on his surroundings and making every sound muted against the overpowering thrum of his heart. He could not, would not, look directly at Jaskier. The words between them were suffocating him until his breath was stuck in his throat and did not know if he was capable of moving.
“I know I’m not without shortcomings. I am loud, and dishonest with my intentions when I want something, frugal and vain, prideful and cunning with my words. You are right to be annoyed, displeased, and even want to keep me away when I’m disturbing your silence.”
“But darling, it has been 25 years, and if nothing else, I deserve to be put down gently.” The last part was almost whispered, and the affirmation carried with the summer breeze until it was lodged inside the witcher.

“If we could then, would you?” The shield around his heart broke down. The alcohol from dinner, the cigarettes, the moonlight and the perpetual cold inside his bones that only stopped aching when Steve touched him broke all of his defenses. He wanted to hear it, even if it was just once. The future was uncertain, and he needed something to hold on. If he died here in Europe, he needed to know.

Catarina relaxed her body with a deep breath, and uncrossed her arms.
“I know. I think maybe I’m a little worried about that too, that’s why I didn’t want to say anything. I can’t explain it Magnus, the moment I set eyes on him… It was like seeing the world through different lenses. More colorful, centered, like things I didn’t know were crooked, suddenly aligned.”
The descriptions made Magnus smile too, with a warm feeling of affection rushing through his chest, as well as a small sharp prickle of pain.

Buck felt his mouth drop open in delight. “Eddie,” he admonished. “Are you calling me a whore?”
“No!” said Eddie, looking increasingly flustered. “I just mean—clearly you have the power to do—” he gestured at Buck, “that, so you have the—the responsibility to, like, use it. Responsibly.”
“Did you just quote Spiderman?”
Eddie propped his elbows on the table and dropped his head into his hands, groaning dramatically. “I’m going to die. The first date, and I’m going to die.”

Buck kissed him. It didn’t feel like a declaration the way kisses usually do. It didn’t feel stifling. It felt like a plea. It felt like exactly what he said, like don’t go. Buck is still getting over Tommy, and Eddie is straight, and the two of them—it’s easy between the two of them.
The engine roars and Buck turns to look at him, eyebrows raised as if asking if he’s ready. Eddie nods, swallows, and puts his head back. Buck kissed him, and they won’t talk about it, and Eddie’s fine with that because really, Buck’s the only thing that’s ever been easy for Eddie.

Summary
Adriana doesn’t tell their parents that she’s going to LA. She doesn’t tell Eddie, either—or ask, for that matter.
She does ask Chris, and he thinks it’s a good idea—says as much, on the phone, and doesn’t say much else.
“Buck will probably be hovering,” is what Chris does volunteer.
It still surprises her when the man who opens the door is not Eddie. It’s—Captain America, is the thing that actually comes to mind—a man close to a foot taller than she is, if not more than that, with blond curls and broad shoulders, and he’s got a question in his very blue eyes that’s probably less friendly than the one he actually asks her.
“Uh,” he says. “Can I help you?”
