"I'm eighteen! And Derek's not that much older than me," he retorted.
Finstock looked at Derek again with narrowed eyes. "Are you kidding me? That face has a mortgage. HEY! You! With the five o'clock shadow! Get the fuck outta here or I'm coming at you with a lacrosse stick! Don't think I won't!"
Practice came to a standstill as every single one of Stiles' teammates stopped to stare at Derek. Scott, who had werewolf powers and could probably sense when Derek sneezed a mile away, tried and failed to look like he hadn't been aware that Derek was there the entire time.
"Oh my God." Stiles dragged his nails through his hair, grimacing. This was what dying of embarrassment felt like. His face felt like it was on fire. Surely he couldn't hold this temperature for long.
He glanced at Derek, mortified, and Derek proceeded to—clench his jaw and start stalking towards them—Jesus Christ—
