Bruno Buccellati is a gangster, who has known that contradictions exist since his mother divorced his father when he was still a child. They both seemed so happy, but that was only a front for what they wanted him to see-- He only seems to get in Leone's way.

“I’m-,” Abbacchio swallowed hard, trying to keep his composure as he felt sweat build up on his temple. On the skin inside his palms. Cold, sticky. Revealing. “I’m not.”
“Bullshit. ” Bucciarati’s hand caressed the side of his face. “You’re terrified.”Or, Abbacchio is a cop, Bucciarati is a gangster. Their respective paths should have never crossed.

“Why must you make life harder?” Abbacchio asked the four case files before him - and like mockery, they stared back in silence for a little while longer - until an unexpected sound of all-too-familiar footsteps snapped him out of his thoughts.
He prayed he was dreaming it all - though the image of Bruno Bucciarati standing casually in the overheated shared office space did not disappear even when he pinched the skin on his forearm where scars from laser tattoo removal sat.
“Hey, officer,” the ravenette made his way to Abbacchio’s desk and pulled up a spare chair. “Got a minute to help me out?”Or, soulmates never die and so, Bucciarati and Abbacchio keep finding each other.
