Summary
They shared a moment in the weave, a spark shaped from magic and imagined passion, but neither of them has found the courage to speak of it since. Gale spends nights replaying that memory while convincing himself he must have misunderstood everything. Tav waits for him to say something before misreading his silence as rejection.
On the eve of the goblin raid, Tav tries one last time to reach him. Gale fumbles his chance again. Now they must fight on opposite sides of a dangerous plan, their miscommunication weighing heavier than any spellbook.
Magic is easy. Love, it seems, is a far more complicated art.

Summary
The man was tall. Slim in the chest, but with shoulders that gladly filled out the tactical clothing under his tac vest. The collar of his shirt ended just under his jaw, made all the more stark by the contrast of thick, silver hair above. There were a half-dozen weapons hidden on his person. His boots were reinforced at the toe and heel, the leather combat-grade and a deep, telltale black.
Alfred Pennyworth walked down the center of the aisle, well-aware of the attention he’d garnered and entirely indifferent to it.

Love and Leverage by Melzaryn

Summary
Teague is a bard, sorcerer, and devil cult survivor—also Baldur's Gate's most tactically minded manipulator. She's tadpoled, desperate to survive the nautiloid crash, and unprepared for Gale of Waterdeep: a wizard whose brilliance matches hers, whose ego rivals hers, and whose ex-goddess might be worse than her infernal bloodsire.
What begins as tactical alliance evolves into something more complicated. They leverage each other's strengths: his arcane mastery and Waterdhavian connections, her street contacts and strategic ruthlessness. But somewhere between escaping Gargauth's contract and confronting Mystra's manipulation, calculation becomes care.
The series follows their relationship from first meeting through endgame and beyond—navigating cult politics, divine interference, and whether two calculating survivors can build something real without destroying it through analysis. Teague's escaping her past while Gale confronts his. Both are brilliant, damaged, and learning that love and leverage aren't mutually exclusive.
Expect: tactical thinking, trauma recovery without easy fixes, partnership between equals, morally complex choices, and two people discovering some things matter more than optimization.
