Summary

After sending Gwaine to infiltrate and investigate the enemy, Arthur manages to strike Cenred an unexpected blow by capturing Emrys, considered a war criminal of the worst kind. Summary
There are two times that Anakin Skywalker almost leaves the Jedi Order during the war.
The first is after Umbara. His men are torn apart, and the Jedi didn’t notice the traitor in their midst. He would walk away, but his men need him. The first time, he makes sure his battalion will never be left in the hands of someone he doesn’t trust.
The next is after the Temple bombing. He almost walks out after Ahsoka, but his men still need him. So he stays, even though it kills him.
Then Ringo Vinda happens, and protecting his men isn’t so simple anymore. So things happen. Clone trooper Tup kills General Tiplar. Rogue clone trooper Fives kills General Skywalker.
The 501st has a plan to take down the man at the heart of a conspiracy to tear the Republic apart. But first, they have to beat him at his own game. And things will only confuse those not aware more- especially General Skywalker’s years old succession request, signed by the Chancellor himself.

She surprised him again by suddenly looking a lot more interested in what he had to say. “Mental, you say?” She said curiously. Her head turned over her shoulder, as if to check that the hallway behind her really was empty. “I suppose exchanging a few words over tea couldn’t hurt anyone.”

Horses nicker and shift in their muzzy slumber, and the soft snoring of the minuscule, tan-coated puppies and dog form a susurrus of animal heat - natural, barely perceptible. Chivalry smells the dull grassy sting of old strewn hay, the warmth of fresh milk, the inexplicable smell of young children - the heat of their small frames, the buttery scent of new skin. He wants to vomit, he thinks with some alarm, or maybe faint and sleep for a thousand years. He wants to hold his boy in his own hands. He wants to hand him over to Patience, watch her eyes soften into crescent moons, her dark smooth locks splaying over the boy's bouncing ringlets.
