    Zoey preens under the praise, blushing. “I really love animals,” she explains. “I feel like I’ve always seen eye to eye with them, more than I ever have with people. It's why I went into the field.”

    “That's fair,” Rumi nods. Her gaze shifts to Derpy, who is staring at her. Judging. “I feel like Derpy and I never see eye to eye.”

    Zoey snickers at that. “Even though he's your cat?”

    In which Rumi takes Derpy to the vet. Too bad Derpy isn't even hers.

    Oh yeah. And she's scared of animals.
