'Why would it be uncomfortable?’ Chakotay asked, quieter now. ‘I’ll walk you to your door if that’s what you want, or even take you back to Bloomington, but just give me an answer Kathryn, please.’
‘Because of Seven,’ she said softly, her heart straining against her ribs. ‘Knowing you’d be sleeping next to each other… I can’t, Chakotay.’
‘Why the hell would I be sleeping next to Seven?!’ Chakotay yelled, arms flung wide, completely forgetting they were drawing attention to themselves.

Summary
Voyager is heavily damaged, and its command team is every bit as fractured as the ship. Another battle with the Borg has left them precariously low on supplies and fuel, they’re running out of time and options.
Until they encounter a new alien race who could potentially give them what they need to continue to forge a way home. Everything, however, comes with a price. This time, its one that Kathryn and Chakotay must face together.
A test of faith.
To find their way forward, they’ll need to prove their worth to these people and to one another.

Summary
Chakotay and Janeway have fallen into the habit of platonically sharing each other's bed, but Janeway is haunted by Kes's warnings about the Krenim. Chakotay finds creative ways to allay her fears while they are pulled deeper into the gravity well of their mutual attraction. Voyager's encounter with the Voth spurs Janeway to break their carefully maintained parameters.
Captain Janeway had resisted both the trials and the temptations of the Delta Quadrant for an awfully long time. Frankly, she was sick of resisting.
CW: Cardassian vole fighting and brief (holographic) vole injury (idk, I'm sorry. Cardassians gonna Cardassian), mild action/adventure violence, roleplay of very light dubcon situation; this one is light on angst! (Who am I?)
