“I would like it if you were–if you would be selfish with me.” Edwin clears his throat, fussing with his cuffs, and raises his chin stubbornly. “I would like you to know that you are very well loved. Something between annoyance and acceptance flashed across Edwin’s face. “I believe you have it right,” Edwin said. “It would seem that would be the form ghosts take when they heal.”
Charles nodded. “Kinda brills, honestly. Like a turtle goin’ into their shell or something.”
Edwin squinted his eyes at the comparison. “I suppose,” he said. And then almost immediately collapsed when he tried to get up.
“Oi!” Charles said and wrapped his arms around him. “What’re you doing? You wanna be an orb again?”

Summary
The first time Charles attempts eyeliner as a ghost is a bit of a disaster. Edwin steps in to help and in the heat of the moment Charles kisses Edwin in gratitude. That's all it is, a platonic thank you kiss between best mates, or so that's what Charles says to himself and neither of them questions why he keeps up with the kiss tradition every time Edwin does his make-up.

Summary
“He is gone,” Charles choked out, wet and desperate, “I can’t feel him Crystal, he is gone.”
It rang true, sucking all the oxygen in the space around them until it was painfully obvious that, even if soulmates could be separated by Death, Hell would have to try a lot harder. Even if the soul mark was gone and Charles grieved the loss of half his soul, he would wreak havoc until there was nothing left of him.
Or: the soulmate au where when Edwin gets taken to Hell the soul mark and ‘soul bond’ disappears, leaving Charles uncertain if Edwin is still even ‘alive’ yet he goes down to Hell anyways.
