Summary
“I think you should just talk with him, man. Communication is key,” and as soon as this conversation is over, Kirk will be communicating about how he wants to get in James's pants. He's felt that way since the minute he saw him on the first day of this humanities class, but he's also seen the drama unfold between him and his friend, Lars.

Summary
“‘Sometimes I think it’s a shame,’” James sang, his slightly rough and deeply rich voice sending a wave of shock up Jason’s spine and another stampede through his heart. “‘When I get feeling better, when I’m feeling no pain.’”

Summary
“I don’t–” No, James didn’t want to say that either. None of that mattered anyway; what mattered is that he had the chance to do this all over. He bypassed the real answer and reached out for Jason again; he put one hand on Jason’s knee and curled his fingers over the denim. “He doesn’t ever tell you this,” he said, flashing a knowing, damning look at his younger self. “But he’s fucking crazy for you.”
Young James’ eyes bore into his again, furious, because of course he never wanted Jason to know that–not until it was all too late.
“He never–I never knew how to tell you or how to show you,” James added, the sad, miserable, gut-wrenching truth. He slid his hand up Jason’s thigh, slow enough for Jason to invite him or shut him out. “But I know what you want now. I learned.”

Summary
It was a show, James thought, and while the spotlight was nerve-wracking, it was also scintillating, making him warm and wiggly in Dave’s lap. He was content to never do anything with anyone else as long as was with Jason, but getting intimate with someone Jason approved of wasn’t actually so difficult to ease into, and knowing Jason was enjoying the view prompted a burning curl of arousal in his stomach.
“Jesus.” Dave grabbed James’ ass with both hands and squeezed, then turned to Jason. “I don’t know how you ever keep your hands off him.”
James blushed when Jason smiled at him and said, “Only with great restraint.”

Summary
The laugh that bubbled out of Jason was another shock that zapped through his heart–god, how long had it been since James made him laugh? Too long. Way too fucking long. He was smiling so big, crazed with confusion and joy, wild emotions flooding his heart and head.
He was trying to choose one of the hundred different things he wanted to say, but James spoke first: “You forgot about me, Jase.”
God, the nickname–Jason now remembered how much he loved it, how James called him it more than anyone else, how he always said it with such affection. Except now, because James’ tone was daunting and accusatory, and Jason’s heart went tight in the constricting tornado of his ribs, the beat so hard it felt like he might explode.
“No. No, James, I never forgot about you.” Jason had to sit down, his knee going wild with his foot tapping the floor. “But hearing your voice again–shit. It makes me realize that I only forgot how much I missed you.”

Summary
“Come on, Jason–don’t let him get to you.” Dave rested his chin on James’ shoulder and nosed through his hair to say, “Y’know, James, Jase here is a real good one and you treat him like fucking dirt.” The hand around James’ wrists moved to the base of his neck, fingers curling around as James shuddered; Jason did too. “You treat him worse than you treated me, you petty bitch–at least you found the kindness in your heart to kick me to the curb instead of kicking me down.”
James looked at Jason with worry in his eyes and another nervous bite to his lip; Jason just shrugged because, well, Dave wasn’t wrong. Not wrong at all.
