Summary
Jonathan Byers didn’t believe in soulmates. Not in the sense that they didn’t exist. He knew they were out there– in theory. He wasn’t naive enough to think that he’d actually find his. He also didn’t buy into the belief that you couldn’t live a happy life without finding your soulmate. He didn’t know anyone who had found their soulmate and they all lived perfectly happy and normal lives. There was just one benefit of finding a soulmate. Colors. The moment a person and their soulmate touch, their worlds are flooded with vibrant, beautiful colors. Without that person, you were stuck in a world of black and white. When Will goes missing, finding his soulmate is the last thing on Jonathan’s mind that is until he punches Steve Harrington in the face and his world is flooded with color.

Summary
It was at this point that Jon identified the clear pattern. For all the parting ways that occurred in Steve’s little rollercoaster of a life, never was he the initiator. He was doing a hell of a lot of being-broken-up-with, not much of the breaking. It made Jon… just kind of sad.
(Or, Steve finally moves to New York, not exactly how Jon expected.)

“What?” Steve says, cluelessly- a little irritated, now. “What is it?”
“You don’t even know. Oh my god.” Nancy has to laugh. She laughs, and laughs, for a good while, and Steve just frowns in response.
“You and Robin really are a match made in heaven.” He mutters darkly, not finding it in himself to get annoyed at her, despite how much little sense she's making. “You guys deserve eachother, man.”
Or, Steve and Nancy concoct a half-baked scheme to get together again, just to make Robin and Jonathan jealous.
And, of course, it fails. Miserably.
